Those born in the first third of each month are slated to be paid first; those qualified for Social Security payments are paid on one of three Wednesdays across each month using a system based on their date of birth.
For people born within the first 10 days of each month, Social Security checks should find their way into accounts starting on the second Wednesday of every month.
The staggered Social Security payment schedule for March 2025 follows:
Wednesday, Mar. 12: Recipients ranging in birth from 1st to 10th of month
Wednesday, Mar. 19: Recipients from the 11th to 20th of the month
Wednesday, Mar. 26: Recipients born between the ages of 21 and 31.
Does Social Security pay schedule have any exceptions?
Indeed, long-term Social Security recipients starting to receive their checks before May 1997 are not covered by the three-wednesdays payment method.
Rather, regardless of their birthday, this part of the income is paid on the third day of every month; unless this date falls on a weekend or holiday.
Except weekends or holidays, residents on Supplemental Security Income (SSI), a distinct, needs-based program instead of contribution-based, are paid on the first of the month. This was paid on February 28 for March; March 1 fell on a Saturday.
