Tom Brady and Bill Belichick lose place in NFL history.

With a new rule enforced that has altered the league's history, Tom Brady and Bill Belichick are now not top of the all-time Super Bowl winning list for their respective positions.

A committee decided upon at the annual league owners meeting in Palm Beach, Florida this week that official NFL records will include player, coach, and team data from the All-America Football Conference (AAFC).

They had been rivals of the NFL's, with clubs like the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers, before the AAFC signed on as member in 1950.

Records set during that era have been in their own category up until Tuesday, with the NFL finally agreeing to include those statistics to it's history - meaning Brady and Belichick are now no more alone in the top spot for championship wins throughout their career.

With two guys a major factor, quarterback Otto Graham and head coach Paul Brown, the Browns listed above had been dominant throughout that period.

Before the league combined, the two won four AAFC titles; Graham as quarterback then went on to win three Super Bowls. Brady is therefore not alone on top of the championship criteria; Graham has seven beside him.

With six Super Bowls under his belt, Belichick had been at the top of the head coaching list; now, Brown has suddenly dropped him from the top slot even though he passed away 34 years ago.

Before he started the Cincinnati Bengals, who would eventually become division rivals to the Browns, Brown spent 16 years serving as general manager and part-owner in addition to head coach for two opposing teams.

Brown, who owned the Bengals for 24 years until his death in 1991, had been head coach of the team for eight years. The stadium in Cincinnati was renamed Paycor Stadium after him.

Though it seems improbable at this point after he accepted a move to join the University of North Carolina, becoming a college football head coach for the first time - never working at the collegiate level in his 50-year career - Belichick could still return to the NFL in the future.
