The Best Way To Freeze Your Own Strawberries

Pick firm, fully red strawberries without bruises or soft spots — the fresher, the better for freezing!

Choose Fresh, Ripe Strawberries

Rinse your strawberries under cold water and pat them completely dry with a paper towel to prevent ice crystals.

Wash and Gently Dry

Remove the green leafy tops and the white core using a knife or a strawberry huller for easy prep later.

Hull the Strawberries

Decide whether you want whole berries, halves, or slices — sliced berries freeze faster and are recipe-ready!

Slice or Leave Whole

Place strawberries in a single layer on a parchment-lined tray and freeze for 1-2 hours until solid. This prevents clumping!

Flash Freeze on a Baking Sheet

Once frozen, move them into airtight freezer bags or containers. Squeeze out as much air as possible to avoid freezer burn.

Transfer to Freezer-Safe Bags or Containers

Mark the date on your bags or containers — strawberries can stay fresh in the freezer for up to 12 months!
