Though it's not always the best option, a Friday night pizza is a seductive treat to finish the week. That's where food guru Emily English's creative 'pizza salad' recipe promises all the taste of your preferred takeaway without the health issues.
Emily, 29, said her dish has a hefty 48g of protein and runs 543 calories. She wants to "recreate the classic flavors," hence a delicious garlic herb dressing accentuates the pepperoni-based dinner.
"Pizza salad with garlic herb dressing," she said on a post to her 1.7 million followers yesterday. "When I tell you this salad actually tastes like pizza.
"Exactly the same way you would choose your pizza toppings, free to add in your favourite toppings INTO the salad to reproduce the classic tastes. Olives, tuna, capers, or everything your preferred pizza order calls for—you are free to freestyle extra toppings you enjoy."
Emily says to start the recipe by slicing aubergine, cherry tomatoes, and red pepper and preheating an oven or air fryer to 200°C (fan). Combine these elements in a bowl with oregano, pepperoni, garlic grains, and a little salt.
Once all is properly mixed, pop them on a baking dish or air fryer and roast for 12 to 15 minutes. When done, your ingredients should be just caramelised and little sticky.
