Nothing compares to the satisfaction of a delicious stack of pancakes. They are a favorite for breakfast because of their fluffy, airy texture and the countless topping options.
Even though it's rather easy to make, it can be difficult to get the ideal restaurant-style fluffiness. Experts in cooking, however, offer a remedy.
She shares her advice on the BBC Good Food Everyday Instagram feed, explaining how this breakfast essential may improve the texture and taste of your pancakes. It's a great way to use up leftovers as well.
"You'll never guess the secret ingredient in these thick and fluffy American-style pancakes," she stated in a recent video showcasing her pancakes. I frequently get leftovers of it from family breakfasts. It's chilly porridge, indeed.
150g of cold oatmeal leftovers 150g of self-raising flour A teaspoon of baking powder One mashed ripe banana
Two big eggs 100 milliliters of milk Two teaspoons of sunflower or vegetable oil To serve, add fruit, yogurt, and honey or maple syrup.
In a bowl, mix together the oats, flour, baking powder, banana, eggs, and milk. Spoon dollops of the porridge blend into a skillet with heated oil, and cook over medium heat until the bottom is brown and bubbles form on top.
To ensure they are cooked through, turn them over and continue cooking for a few more minutes. While you finish off the batter, keep them warm in a low-temperature oven.
Top them with honey or syrup and serve them with fruit and yogurt.
Cassie stated: "This is one of my favourite leftover recipes and a great way to reduce waste in your kitchen."
