Worth up to $967, May's Supplemental Security Income payment will be sent to millions of recipients in 25 days.
May 1 is slated for the distribution of the next SSI payments. The Social Security Administration states that recipients of SSI assistance live with crippling disabilities that compromise their income.
Regular Social Security income and SSI payments are unrelated. Social Security benefits do not immediately qualify one for SSI payments and vice versa.
Many variables affect the amount qualified recipients get, including the volume of filings. Candidates claiming as singles might get up to $967 a month; couples filing together could earn up to $1,450
and important persons helping SSI beneficiaries with needed care could get up to $484. Since 2024, inflation has driven these values up by 2.5%.
Filers must be at least partially blind or have a "physical or mental condition(s) that seriously limits their daily activities for 12 months or more or may be expected to result in death."
