Lithuanian pancakes: A delicious taste of tradition

One and eight pounds of potatoes Two eggs. Two tablespoons of Wheat flour 0.66 kg ground beef or pork Two onion Taste calls for salt and pepper; cook with oil.

Ingredients

Peel the potatoes and fine grate them. Eliminate extra liquid to avoid an overly watery combination. Add one egg, flour, salt, and pepper; then, carefully stir.

Preparing the potato batter

finely cut the onion and sauté it on a pan. Add ground meat and cook till nicely browned. Season with salt and pepper; then, whisk everything together adding the second egg.

Preparing the filling

On a hot pan with a little oil, place tiny amounts of the potato mixture. Spoon some of the meat filling onto one pancake; then, cover with another layer of the potato mixture.

Forming the pancakes

Fry the Lithuanian pancakes medium-heat until browned on both sides. After that, place them on a baking pan and heat the filling uniformly for ten to fifteen minutes at 350°F.

Frying

Present the pancakes hot, ideally accompanied with sour cream, mushroom sauce, or light natural yogurt on a side.
