Use a sharp knife and a sturdy cutting board. A dull knife can make cutting difficult, so always keep your knife sharpened for the best results.
1. Gather Your Tool
Rinse the bell pepper under cold water to remove dirt and pesticides. Dry it well with a paper towel to avoid slipping while cutting it into pieces.
2. Wash the Bell Pepper
Slice off the top and bottom of the pepper. This will give you a flat surface to work with, making it easier to handle while removing the seeds inside.
3. Cut Off the Top and Bottom
Stand the pepper upright and cut downward along the inside edges to remove the white ribs and seeds. This step ensures a cleaner, tastier final dice.
4. Remove the Seeds and Core
Lay the pepper flat with the skin side down. Cut it into long, even strips. The thinner the strips, the smaller and more uniform the dice will be later.
5. Flatten and Slice into Strip
Gather the strips together and slice them crosswise into small cubes. Try to keep the cuts even to ensure they cook at the same rate in your recipe.
6. Dice the Strips into Cube
Use the diced bell pepper in salads, stir-fries, or omelets. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge to keep them fresh for later use. 4o
