The lottery declared a "mega revamp" last October, aiming for larger and better than before. Among the improvements for players will be faster-growing prize pools, better starting rewards, bigger and more frequent jackpots, and enhanced odds of winning the jackpot.
Still, the price of taking part in Mega Millions is rising too. From the present $2 every play, the ticket price will almost quadruple.
Apart from the above modifications, a Mega Millions ticket will cost $5 per play starting in April 2025.
" Tickets for the new and upgraded game debuts next April will cost $5 each play. The lottery said that this is only the second pricing modification in the than 20 years and the first change since the present game grid was adopted in 2017.
Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 p.m. ET (8:00 p.m. PT / 10:00 p.m. CT) include draws. Almost every state except Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah offers the lottery. Though not found in Puerto Rico, it can also be played in the U.S. Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia.
When are Mega Millions draws and how can you play?
Depending on the state, the cut off time for ticket purchases is often one to two hours before the draw. Tickets can be purchased online or in-person in relevant participating jurisdictions by players.
Participants have to buy a ticket in one of the 47 jurisdictions where Mega Millions is accessible to play. Players pick one Mega Ball number from 1 to 25 and six numbers—five from 1 to 70.
