Difference Between Green, Red, Orange, and Yellow Peppers?

Distinct colored bell peppers have quite distinct taste and nutritional value since they are picked at different phases of maturation .

The Farmer's Almanac states that the bell pepper's growing season runs from 60 to 90 days, so the sunlight, heat, and care different bell peppers get differs greatly.   

Usually picked before they have completely ripened, green peppers "They are less sweet than their more mature counterparts and have a more grassy, somewhat bitter taste  

Though their development is still developing, green bell peppers do have minerals and vitamins; the quantity is not as great as fully ripened bell peppers.   

yellow and orange peppers are picked midway through ripening. Though not as delicious as red ones, they are sweeter than green peppers.   

Though not nearly as high as red peppers, they are also rather strong in vitamins A and C.  

Having more time to develop their sugars, red peppers—fully ripened green peppers—have a richer taste. Thanks for its lengthier ripening period; red bell peppers are abundant in vitamins A and C nutritionally.
