Two slices of Texas toast. One yolk for an egg. Two entire teaspoons of milk one half teaspoon cinnamon sugar
For fried foods, avocado or canola oil. For garnish, powder sugar Regarding serving, maple syrup
From every Texas toast slice, remove and throw away the crust. Cut each slice of bread lengthwise three times to produce six equally sized sticks. Schedule.
In a small bowl, whisk the egg, milk, and cinnamon sugar to form the batter. Whisk till the batter comes together completely and yolk specks are no more visible.
In a large nonstick skillet set over medium-high heat, warm 1/4 inch of oil.
Dip a Texas toast stick into the batter momentarily when the oil is shimmering so that the extra can drain before putting the bread into the hot oil.
Until all the bread is in the pan, keep dipping the sticks into the batter. Prepare the French toast sticks in numerous batches if all the sticks won't fit in the pan at once.
Cook the French toast sticks until golden brown and cooked through, one to two minutes on each side.
If desired, sprinkle the cooked French toast sticks with powdered sugar; then, serve alongside maple syrup, if using.
