Remove the gasket (rubber ring) and the whistle (pressure valve) from the lid of the pressure cooker.
Grease the cake tin with butter or oil and dust with flour. Alternatively, you can line the bottom and sides of the tin with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup butter (melted), 1/2 cup milk, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1 tsp baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
Pour the prepared batter into the greased and lined cake tin. Tap the tin lightly on the counter to remove air bubbles.
Heat the pressure cooker on low heat for about 5 minutes to ensure it’s evenly heated.
Place the cake tin inside the pressure cooker on the trivet. Cover the cooker with its lid (without the pressure valve) and cook on low to medium heat for 30-40 minutes.
Once done, remove the cake tin from the pressure cooker and let it cool for 10-15 minutes before turning the cake out onto a wire rack.
