Magic Johnson Slams JJ Redick After Timberwolves Game 1 Loss

After the Los Angeles Lakers dropped Game 1 of their first-round series against the Minnesota Timberwolves, LeBron James lost some G.O.A.T. fans.

Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves outplayed the No. 3 Western Conference seed Lakers. Magic Johnson blasted coach JJ Redick on social media after the lackluster performance.

Johnson wrote on X, formerly Twitter: "Coach JJ Redick was outstanding all season but not in Game 1. He did little to adjust the Lakers' offense, which was too one-on-one."

After acquiring Luka Doncic at the trade deadline, many expect the Lakers to represent the West in the NBA Finals. After losing the first game against Timberwolves, who reached the conference finals last season, they have a tough job.

Two-time NBA champion Kenny Smith disagrees with the top five players in league history.

Smith said on TNT's Inside The NBA that Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Russell, and Shaquille O'Neal were the best players.

Smith: "Michael Jordan is the top player I've seen." Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Bill Russell are my top five. My fifth player is on the panel. Shaq may be a top-5 player. If I was drafting, I'd choose Shaq almost always over LeBron James."

Smith notably left out LeBron James, an often-discussed player with Jordan in the greatest of all time argument. The league's all-time top scorer, James has four crowns and four MVPs.

However, Smith chose O'Neal due to his 1990s and early 2000s domination. O'Neal won four titles, including three straight with the Lakers from 2000-02.
